Ikebana 2

$60.00

Footed Wheel Thrown Vessels in Speckled White Stoneware with glazed interiors.
Timeless, Sophisticated and Understated Minimalist centrepieces.

14cm x 2.5cm

Embrace the art of Japanese Flower arrangement with this elegant Ikebana dish.
Kenzan (flower pin frog) included. Each vessel is unique. Sizes vary.

Can be used as regular bowls, or vases with endless possibilities. Let the shape guide your decision. Watertight.

What is Ikebana Flower Arrangement?

The four principles of ikebana are a fresh approach to design, movement, balance and harmony. The three elements are line, colour and mass. Cultivate an eye for appreciation and a hand for creation. A sense of balance is essential.

Also used for Moribana, (Japanese: “heaped-up flowers”), in Japanese floral art, this is a style of arranging in which naturalistic landscapes are constructed in low dish-like vases.

Simply place the Kenzan in bottom of bowl and fill with water. Arrange 1, 3, 5 or more stems into the pins with attention given to varying heights. Rearrange and replace as desired.

*Adhere Kenzan to bowl with floral putty if working with very heavy stems or branches to avoid tipping.

As with all handmade items, variation in size, shape and colouration is inevitable and part of the inherent charm of the product.
Dishwasher, Microwave and Oven safe.
