Jamila Monahan is a ceramic and fibre artist whose work explores our relationship with the natural world. Working with clay alongside foraged and found materials, she combines traditional ceramic processes with contemporary basketry techniques to create sculptural vessels rooted in material, place and the landscape around her.

Based in Glen Huron, Ontario, Jamila’s practice is shaped by the Niagara Escarpment and a deep curiosity about the natural materials found within it. Her work considers what the land holds, what we leave behind, and how objects can connect us more closely to the environments we inhabit.
